A popular tourist city in the Gangwon-do area in Sokcho City is engulfed in wildfires.
The wildfires started on April 4th in the Sokcho area after a transformer at a local gas station exploded and ignited a fire. The current flames that cover a majority of Sokcho are said to be even more dangerous as they're now moving into a resort and apartment complex in the area where many people are staying.
Moreover, due to the dry atmosphere and dry winds, the fires aren't subsiding and the authorities believe evacuation is imminent.
