Article: News Desk - "Park Yoochun, "Needle and bruise marks on my arm? It's not because of drugs?"
Source: Xports News
Park Yoochun has denied all instances of alleged drug use.
According to a broadcast by MBC's 'News Desk' on the 18th, the singer and actor had needle marks and bruises on the back of his hand. The report also said that police have secured CCTV footage that shows Yoochun wearing a mask and sending money using wire transfer to a person presumed to be a drug dealer, arriving at the location where drugs are hidden and retrieving them. This is a common drug transaction called the "Throwing Method." MBC also reported that the footage was from two instances of drug purchase, one in February in Hannam and the other in March in Yeoksam.
When questioned by Police about these instances during the second police interrogation on the 18th, the singer said, "I didn't know they were drugs. I just went out to pick up the package under Hwang Hana's request." When asked about the needle marks and bruises on his hand, he said, "It's not related to drugs. My hand got hurt by a pointed object."
Meanwhile, the drug investigation team of the Southern Provincial Police Department interrogated Yoochun on the 18th for 7 hours from 10:30am until 6:10pm that evening. When asked about the drug use by reporters as he left the station, he maintained his innocence and denied all the allegations against him.
Because both Hwang Hana and Yoochun are giving conflicting statements, the police are considering calling them back for further questioning.
Later that evening, Yoochun's legal representative Kwon Chang Bum gave an official statement following MBC's report regarding the CCTV footage.
Below is the official statement:
"This is lawyer Kwon Chang Bum of the law firm representing Park Yoochun.
This is a statement regarding today’s report on MBC’s ‘Newsdesk.’ Firstly, we think it is unfortunate that there are certain media reports continuously being released about a situation that is still under investigation.
Also, in regards to problems with the content of the “Newsdesk” report, the first issue is that it was reported that CCTV footage in March from the inside of a quiet commercial building in the neighborhood of Yeoksam shows him with an object that is presumed to be drugs. However, this is something that has not been asked about even once during the police’s investigation process so far. It is clearly false reporting to state that the police are doing a close enquiry on something that hasn’t even been asked about during questioning.
Secondly, it was reported that there was a needle mark on the back of Park Yoochun’s hand. However, his hand was injured a few months prior, and there are wounds not only on the back of his hand but also on his little finger. In addition, the back of his hand was something verified during the police’s questioning process, and this does not appear in the CCTV footage. There are considerable issues in the report.
As Park Yoochun’s legal representative, I state that we plan to request that MBC make corrections on their report in regards to the reports of false information."
