Former Big Bang member Seungri (Lee Seunghyun, 29) who is under investigation for prostitution, embezzlement, and tax evasion will enlist in military duty.
An official from the Military Manpower Administration [MMA] spoke to the media on the 24th and said, "The deadline for Seungri's military postponement will expire tonight. Starting tomorrow, we will transition his status to join the army as he is obligated to perform his military duty. He'll be re-notified of his new enlistment date promptly. We will determine a relevant date for enlistment in accordance with policy measures."
In March, the MMA granted Seungri a 3-month postponement in accordance with Article 129 of the Military Service Act due to "unavoidable reasons" as he was being investigated in the 'Burning Sun' controversies. According to regulations, he is allowed to postpone his military service one more time for the same reason but afterwards he has to submit to mandatory service.
