Burning Sun CEO Lee Moon-ho has also received a suspended sentence despite pleading guilty.
On the 22nd, Judge Lee Ki-Hong of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Lee to suspended 6-month prison sentence and 3 years probation on charges of violating the drug abuse law. The court also ordered Lee to complete 200 hours of community service.
The Judge said, "Lee Moon-ho seems to have earned a lot of money running the Club but as CEO he has responsibility to manage drug use among guests who visit his club. He used drugs inside the club without any sense of guilt, however, since Lee has admitted all responsibility in court and reflected on himself I will sentence him to a suspended jail term."
Lee Moon-ho is suspected of injecting ecstasy, Ketamine and other drugs at Gangnam clubs from October to February this year with his girlfriend. Police also suspect that he hid drugs in his vehicles.
Prosecutors demanded a two and a half year jail term in court stating "The public is strongly demanding the eradication of drugs from our society," but the court sentenced the CEO to probation instead.
