TS Entertainment has announced a lawsuit against Sleepy for breach of contract.
In an interview with Daily Economic on the 15th, a TS official stated, "Yes, we are conducting a lawsuit for damages. Sleepy filed a request to suspend his exclusive contract with the agency in May stating that we didn't provide him with documents regarding payments nor the physical copy of his contract. Despite the fact that these claims were not true at all, we ended the contract under agreement."
He added, "Sleepy violated several provisions in the contract so we're proceeding with a damages suit. We're planning to file a lawsuit around the end of this month and early October."
Rapper Sleepy reportedly established his agency PVO Entertainment after a legal dispute in June with his former agency TS Entertainment and became its CEO.
According to media, Sleepy claimed that his agency didn't provide him with documents regarding payments nor a physical copy of his contract, and that the trust in the company had reached a breakdown due to operational difficulties. But TS is stating that they provided physical copies of the contract to Sleepy directly and even showed him paid amounts by exact date. According to TS, Sleepy didn't raise any objections after seeing all the data.
Regarding Sleepy's claims that the agency is having operational difficulties, TS stated that company regained stability despite setbacks and is operating without problems.
The Seoul District Court's civil affairs department rejected Sleepy's injunction request filed back in June for the contract termination and the two sides agreed to drop the suit in a 14-part hearing at the Seoul Western District Court last month.
According to a source from TS Entertainment, "there are suspicions that Sleepy embezzled money from the agency through CF rates and that's the reason for the damages suit."
