X1 fans have issued a statement asking CJENM to clarify vote manipulation controversy.
MBC's exploratory program 'PD Notebook' that aired Wednesday revealed the depth of vote-rigging and collusion involved in CJ's Mnet 'Produce' series as well as audition program 'Idol School'. 'PD Notebook' shocked viewers after sharing testimonies and providing evidence of the human rights violations on the show, vote-rigging, and collusion with participating agencies. 'PD Notebook' also pointed out that CJ has grown in size by acquiring small agencies resulting in the company maximizing its profits by monopolizing the broadcast, music, performance, and distribution channels.
After 'PD Notebook' aired, netizens speculated online about members that were given preferential treatment during the audition programs and ranked high without cause. Netizens also speculated about the members that were disadvantaged and suddenly dropped out of the rankings for debut. Netizens are asking for the agency to revise the rankings of the members who manipulated votes to debut.
As a result, a group of X1 fans released a letter criticizing CJENM for their handling of the vote manipulation controversy. Fans are strongly criticizing CJ for remaining silent after the 'PD Notebook' broadcast.
The letter asks CJ to clarify the situation as 'X1' is at the center of the vote manipulation controversy and this could result in mental damage among the members as well as damage to the group's reputation. According to X1 fans, the group is being penalized for the incident already as the group has been banned from appearing on certain tv programs and some of their CF's have also been cancelled.
