MBC is under fire for allegations of retaliation over BTS' non-attendance.
An industry official stated on the 26th, "It's a public fact that it will be difficult for GFriend and TXT to appear at the MBC event."
Recently, the lineup for MBC's 'Gayo Daejejun' on the 31st was released and several senior singers confirmed their attendance. However, BTS won't be making an attendance due to an overseas schedule.
The problem wasn't that BTS won't be attending but rather the effect on their labelmates Gfriend and rookie TXT. After the lineup was released, many suspicions poured out about GFriend and TXT's appearance. In particular, many pointed out that "MBC might be penalizing them due to BTS' non-attendance."

MBC has denied allegations stating, "GFriend and TXT not being in the lineup is not revenge against Big Hit because BTS is not making an appearance. It is according to our PD to book the artists. We already knew that BTS would be performing at an overseas schedule."
In the meantime fans are asking for clear explanations from MBC on why GFriend and TXT won't be appearing at the year-end MBC festival this year.
