Police have uncovered how Cho Joo Bin collected admission fees for his Telegram "Nth Room."
According to an SBS report on the 10th, paying members would exchange their money to Japanese yen and deposit the funds in a subway locker. This was a way for them to exchange money without encountering each other.
So far, police have secured 32 virtual currency accounts used by Cho's admins including 17 bitcoin, 11 Monero, and 4 Ethereum accounts. Many of the accounts were created through foreign over-the-counter exchanges and have over 80 transactions showing a flow of funds worth at least 5 billion won. Admission fees paid in virtual currency were then exchanged for cash by a "Mr. Kang" nicknamed "Butta" in the chatroom.
In the meantime, the South Gyeongsang Province dismissed a civil servant "Cheon Mo" who was indicted by police for his involvement in the production and distribution of obscene materials while working as an operator in Cho's "Nth Room."
