A battle of truths is unfolding over reports that singer Jung Joon Il had an extramarital affair.
According to an exclusive report by Wikitree on the 17th, singer Jung Joon Il had an extramarital affair with actress Jung Eun-chae's who's about to air her first drama in years. A close aide from Eun Chae's side refuted reports stating that "Jung Eun-chae is the victim. She didn't know Joon-il was married when they dated in the past. He deceived her into the relationship."
At first, Jung Joon Il's agency MW Music declined to comment saying instead, "It was ten years ago. It's hard for us to comment because it's his personal life." A message was then posted on his fan cafe saying that "because it was hard for his wife A, Jung Joon-il has agreed to a divorce."
But as controversy grew, public criticism grew hot and netizens accused Joon-il of being indifferent, stating that he "didn't seem to care that he had cheated on his wife." As a result, his agency released a new statement confirming the alleged affair but stated that "Jung Eun Chae was well aware he was married when they dated."
This sparked past rumors of Jung Eun Chae having an affair with married Japanese actor Kase Ryo back in 2013. At the time her agency explained that "her friend in Japan had given birth, so Jung Eun Chae had visited during her vacation."
In the meantime, all of this is happening ahead of the premiere of Jung Eun Chae's Friday-Saturday drama "The King: Eternal Monarch" scheduled to air on SBS on the 17th.
