Former YG Entertainment chief producer Yang Hyun Suk (51) has been indicted on "summary orders."
According to a Yonhap News report on the 14th, the Criminal Affairs Department of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors Office requested the court to issue a summary judgement to Yang Hyun Suk on May 26th.
A summary indictment is a procedure where prosecutors request a fine to be imposed only on written hearings instead of formal trials. If the parties or the court do not express their intention to file a formal trial, the sentence will be confirmed through the summary order (fine).
Police forwarded Yang Hyun Suk to prosecution for habitual gambling but the prosecution has made the decision to indict him on summary orders instead. A prosecution official stated, "considering the number of times he actually gambled, we're not able to establish habitual gambling charges. We're not able to disclose the fine amount requested."
As for Yang Hyun Suk's illegal foreign exchange charges of borrowing gambling funds in U.S dollars and paying them back in Korean won aka "hwanchigi", the official stated, "we have dismissed the charges of violating the foreign exchange transaction law due to insufficient evidence to prove the charges."
