Rape criminal Cho Doo Soon (68) has applied for national basic living security benefits.
According to Ansan officials on the 7th, Cho applied for basic living allowance for low income families along with pension benefits paid immediately to senior citizens over 65 who are released from prison.
If approved, Cho is expected to receive 1,194,000 won (~$1,100/mo) that includes 926,000 won in living benefits and 268,000 won in housing benefits for two-person families since he lives with his wife.
The Basic Livelihood Security Act of Korea does not impose restrictions on criminals.
