Woman A (30s) that claimed to have been raped by actor Cho Jae-hyun has lost her damages suit.

A filed a lawsuit for 300 million won in damages in July 2018 claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Cho Jae-hyun 17 years ago in 2004. The court decided to force a compulsory mediation but A refused to accept it and filed an objection leading to a formal trial.

During first trial, A's side insisted "she filed the suit because of the pain she had suffered from his rape." Cho's side retorted stating, "after we filed an objection, A took the lawsuit to the media. Our stance has not changed. This is a case where it's obvious the statute of limitations has passed."

In the end, Judge Lee Sang-ju of the Seoul Central District Court ruled against A denying her 300 million won suit for damages.

Cho Jae Hyun was caught up in 'Me Too' scandal in February 23, 2018 after A [actress Choi Yul] accused him of rape. The next day, Cho Jae Hyun admitted to the allegations, halted all activities, apologized to the people he had hurt and promised to live in reflection.
