IOK has addressed B.I's recent indictment for drug charges.
On the 8th, IOK Company released an official statement on its website writing, "The charges against our artist are related to purchase of drugs, a charge that has continued since 2019. B.I has completed a total of nine investigations and drug tests on the charges in 2020 and is awaiting the final verdict."
"After the incident, B.I continued to think about future direction with our company and although we and the artist acknowledge our past mistakes and cannot undo the past, he worried about contributing to the world as an upright member of society for the rest of his life. That's why he released 'Comfort of the Deep Night' donation album because he felt that music can make a big move and help society."
IOK bowed their head stating, "he wants to show you what he has been preparing for musically with the same heart that's why he recently released a new album. He apologizes for releasing a new album amidst uncomfortable issues."
"Currently, B.I is awaiting the final verdict. We will be with the artist so that he can live as a mature and upright member of society with a sincere apology and attitude to reflect on the past and not repeat his mistakes."
B.I admitted to the charge of smoking marijuana during investigations and was indicted without detention by the Seoul Central Prosecutors Office on the 28th for violating the Narcotics Control Act.
His first hearing is scheduled for July 9th.
