Actor Ha Jung-woo's Propofol case has been handed over to trial.
On the 8th, the Seoul Central District Court revealed that Ha Jung-woo will undergo trial for abusing propofol explaining that summary indictment will not be sufficient in the case.
Judge Shin Se-ah stated, "It's not a matter to be dealt with in summary. The case will have to be tried formally in court."
Ha Jung-woo is accused of illegally administering Propofol in his younger brother and manager's name at a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam in January-September 2019. Initially, the prosecution charged the actor with 10 million won through summary indictment but it appears the case will undergo trial.
The actor addressed the allegations through his agency stating, "I received dermatology treatment for my acne scars but because of the pain from the laser treatment, I was sedated under anesthesia."
However, contrary to his position of self-reflection, Ha Jung-woo has reportedly appointed 4 law firms to include Yulchon, Pacific, and Barun and nearly 10 lawyers to fight the case in court.
Among the 10 lawyers, 2 lawyers were former chief judges, a former police officer, and a former chief prosecutor of the Department of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office of Drug Safety.
The first trial is scheduled for September 14th.
