Why is Gong Yoo's drama 'The Silent Sea' receiving so much backlash from foreign media?

'The Silent Sea' is being hit by a slew of negative reviews calling the drama a "flop." 

Previously, foreign media praised other Korean Netflix Originals like 'Squid Game', 'D.P', and 'Hellbound' giving them 4.5 out of 5 stars.  

However, foreign media continue to criticize the 'The Silent Sea' and calling it "Worst TV series on Netflix" stating that "despite Korean writers being at the forefront of the entertainment industry at the moment, Sci-fi is a genre they continue to and have struggled with for a long time."

Media pointed out, "the greatest strength of Korean dramas is the emotional sensibility but a balance is important when it comes to the sci-fi genre. The drama's original intent was to show off the sci-fi aspect of the 'Silent Sea' however they only focused on expressing emotional conclusions. The even found a way to make it snow on the moon."

I can tell you Jung Woo-sung is a middle-school drop out who doesn't know anything about directing. The only way this drama would've been a success is if Bong Joon-ho was involved.
