Has quality of idol music declined with 4th gen idol debuts?

I used to listen to a lot of idol songs in the past but nowadays it's really disappointing.

I was genuinely excited and looking forward to IU's comeback but she's not as great as she used to be either. Lilac did well enough since its IU and her stage was ok, but looking at the song itself objectively, I don't know. All the songs she's released so far are disappointing.

I liked BTS songs too but the random featurings with a foreign singers are just not my cup of tea. I understand male idol groups have to release songs like this so it can't be helped but all the lyrics are in English. I just want to listen to Korean songs with Korean lyrics.

And Blackpink, they are just too much. What is YG doing? F*ck, it's so annoying that it's been a year since their last comeback. I love BP songs but not having a comeback for more than a year? Ugh.

Listening to Red Velvet's Queendom songs, they have a lot of great tracks but the quality this time was not what I expected. What happened? They're usually really strong. I heard they're making a comeback soon so please make the quality like the old days.

Even TWICE who usually have a lot of high energy need to come out with something elegant. There's really nothing worth listening to. It's sad because they were such a legendary group but they're not as good as they used to be. 

Seventeen, NCT, SHINee, Taeyeon, got good results but they're not as good as they were before. 

4th gen idols are the same. IVE, aespa, StayC, Treasure, Enhypen, TXT wouldn't release such mediocre music if they saw the heyday of 3rd gen idol music back then. 

I was really looking forward to NMIXX this time too but f*ck... such a difficult song to pull off. 

I'm so angry because there are no songs worth listening to nowadays.

Composers are just not as good as before.

2. [+ 356, -55] But people are always going to glorify the past ㅋㅋㅋ. That "heyday" of 2nd gen idols that you glorify so much was just as weird and dirty too. Idols got into just as many scandals and there were just as many trash songs as there were good ones. But because it's the past and its gone, you can't help but miss it so you glorify it 아.

All 2nd gen idols had unique concepts (didn't copy each other) with 2 to 3 representative songs that defined each group's concept so they were firmly implanted in public's mindsㄹ. Plus performances were amazing because most idol groups performed live ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ. Compare that to current idol stages, they're a f*cking joke. Idols these days are just not at the level of idols back thenㅈ
