Big Bang's highly anticipated comeback has failed to impact the stock price.

On the 5th, Big Bang released 'Still Life' after 4-year hiatus and topped charts. However, despite the group being considered YG's cash cow, the "Big Bang effect" has failed to impact YG's share price.

On the 1st, YG's stock price was trading at 71,100 however, it dropped to 65,800 on the 5th, the day of Big Bang's comeback, and has been trading between the 60,000 won range since then.

Rumors of Big Bang's comeback have been leaking since last year, and it appears the expectations have been reflected in the stock price for quite some time. It's more important for a group to maintain upward momentum after a comeback, however, uncertainties over the group schedules and the absence of a physical album or stage performances are growing causing frustrations. The possibility of solo activities by GD, Taeyang and Daesung, however, remain open.

More importantly, the roles of Blackpink who are at the peak of global popularity and rookie Treasure are growing rapidly. Lee Hye-in, a researcher at Yuanta Securities stated, "Company sales are expected to increase by 31% year-on-year to 465.1 billion won in 2022 from Blackpink and Treasure activities as they contribute the most to YG's profits," raising expectations over Blackpink's comeback as they've been on hiatus for 1 year and 6 months.

In particular, however, the 'Yang Hyun Suk risk" still exists as he's YG's largest shareholder and owns 3,151,188 common stock shares (16.96%) as of the 11th.

Meanwhile, Yang Hyun Suk is currently under trial for "threatening trainee A with death" over B.I's drug case and was recently spotted at Treasure's solo concert with "no mask" causing controversy.

  1. [+2,309, -415] Even their title of "Best Group" is a thing of the past... they're well known as "criminal group" now that they've dirtied all those good songs and fond memories.
  2. [+740, -142] When I hear BIGBANG songs now, I'm reminded of their dirty acts and druggie parties..
  3. [+608, -81] The Big Bang name is now imprinted as the "criminal group." They basically threw all their great past songs into the trash. You need morals to remain a legend!
  4. [+378, -57] TOP can f*ck off, GD and Taeyang should just release a duet together.
  5. [+125, -15] Ah~~~~anyone else eat their lunch yet?
  6. [+111, -14] They're the representative "criminal-dol" group now... let's just stop, enough is enough. I've never seen idols so deeply entrenched in crimes like them.
  7. [+75, -11] Eh, shouldn't YG have disbanded Big Bang already? They're only in the news for scandals.
  8. [+48, -5] Seungri and his "banchan" vegetables and rice [side dishes] ~ all birds of a feather... can't stand to see them.
  9. [+37, -2] Aren't they all trash anyway except for Taeyang?
  10. [+36, -8] From "druggies" TOP and GD to "hit and run" Daesung.. Taeyang is the only one that cares to protect his image. But at least the worst thug ba$tard and most scandalous druggie and sex trafficker Seungri is gone.
