Actress Kang Su-yeon has passed away at 56. 

On the 5th, the actress suffered from a brain hemorrhage at her home in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu and collapsed while complaining of pain. She was rushed to the nearby Gangnam hospital in cardiac arrest and fell into a coma while receiving treatment. She passed away on the 7th at 3pm. 

Born in Seoul in 1966, Kang Su-yeon debuted as child actress at 4 and worked as an actress and cultural administrator of Korean films for over half a century. At 21, she won 'Best Actress' at the Venice International Festival for her role in Kwon Taek's film 'Sister' in 1987 and earned title 'World Star.'

Her mortuary has been set up at the 2nd floor of the funeral hall at Samsung Seoul Hospital in Room 17. Condolences can be sent from the 8th and her funeral will be held on the 11th.
