Heated debates are ongoing after it was revealed a 'sex criminal' was included in BTS' new album.
On the 10th, BTS revealed track list for their new anthology album 'Proof' to be released next month however their 10th track 'Filter' is catching attention.
Bobby Chung is listed as composer and lyricist for the song however he's currently on trial for illegally filming and r*ping his then girlfriend and aspiring singer A in May 2020 without her content. It was later revealed A committed suicide in April 2021 after she notified those around her of the crime. In response, the Seoul Western District Prosecutor's Office dismissed the charges in February.
He was then further accused of assaulting and illegally filming another woman B from July 12, 2020 to September 24, 2020. Following appeals from A's family, the previous order of acquittal was dismissed and an order of re-investigation was issued. A and B's cases were then merged and handed over to trial.
At the second trial held in March, he admitted to only assault and denied illegally filming claiming he had "obtained consent" from the victims.
The legal battle became public at that time and it revealed he had composed various songs for Big Hit's idol groups BTS and TXT in 2018 causing anger and criticisms from netizens.
Meanwhile, Bobby Chung, born in 1979, is 44 years old and a singer-songwriter and prior guitarist. He graduated from Yonsei University's 'Literature and Korean Language' Department.
- Jimin again
- F*cking Jimin again...
- The same member...
- Jimin's true character ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹. He seems to be a perfect fit for HYBE.
- So.. property foreclosures and seizures, military evasion and now a s*x criminal comeback..ã…‹ã…‹
- ?? Shouldn't they be canceling the album? This is a really serious matter.
- Seriously why is the entertainment industry so tolerant of s*x crimes. They're insisting of making money from a criminal that assaulted women?
- There are too many charges.. hul, are they crazy? I seriously want to throw up imagining the hell the women went through. Why is the company and fans shielding them? A s*x criminal and idol are tied together to this level..
- Didn't they say a member picked the song himself???
- So they're going to make money for someone under trial for being a serial sex offender and drove a victim to suicide..??!
- This is a BTS album so of course it's going to sell well... basically a comeback for s*x offenders..
- This is quite disappointing... what is HYBE doing?
- Jimin-ah, why exactly did you pick this song?
- Crazy
