BTS leader RM is criticizing the idol industry for it's "military style" system.
On the 14th, BTS announced temporary suspension of group activities to "recover their identity." RM criticized the current idol system in a strong tone through a YouTube video and stated, "K-pop and the idol system does not allow people to mature. There's not time for me to grow. Not just in terms of skills, but as a human, I'm a very different person from who I was a decade ago. I need time to think and be my own person so that those thoughts can mature into something uniquely me. But I can't mature after spending 10 years as BTS because of our schedules. I've become a machine that just churns out rap."
The eldest member Jin also agreed stating, "I feel like I've become a machine too during our group schedules like the members said."
Even top global artists are revealing the harsh reality that cannot be freed from the uniform military-style idol system represented by group life in the dorms and group dance.
In fact, BTS recently pre-recorded their stage for 'Yet To Come' past 1:00 am. Considering the time for hair and makeup, the fact is they had to stay up all night. On the 12th, after the pre-recording, Jin revealed through Weverse, "I'm tired of being up all night. Is this what getting old is?"
If the reality for BTS, who are often thought to be on a different level is like this, the difficulties for other idols in the industry is inevitably more severe.
