Ghanaian broadcaster Sam O'Kyere is causing backlash and rage with his comments.

On the 19th, Sam appeared on 'PD Note' that aired on YouTube and clarified his "cosplay," "racism", and "sexual harassment" scandals and expressed his apologies.

Sam had previously pointed out that the 'Gwanjjak Boys' cosplay by the Uijeongbu High School students in 2020 that parodied Ghana's funeral culture was "unpleasant behavior from a black person's point of view." In the process, Sam posted the students photos and used words like "ignorant" adding the hashtag "teakpop," a derogatory Kpop term, causing controversy.

However, he was embroiled in further controversy and halted broadcast activities after racist acts from a JTBC broadcast where he "slanted his eyes" and "sexual harassment" comments about actress Park Eun-hye surfaced.

Sam aired his grievances on 'PD Note' caused by malicious comments he received after his scandal.

He stated, "I can understand getting cursed to some extent but I was frankly surprised because there were so many swear words that crossed the line. Some people even said they wanted to kill me. For two years, I barely went out unless there was reason to. I couldn't even talk about future plans without getting hate. I'd hoped people could leave some nice comments too."

He confessed, "Honestly, it wasn't easy. I waited patiently and started talking to my friends and would ask, "can you help me find work?" For example, if there's a small event, I took on the MC role and made some money but it wasn't much. I made what little money I could."

He added, "While on hiatus, I posted pictures practicing golf on SNS. It was because an acquaintance offered to give free lessons."

However, netizens reacted coldly to Sam O'Kyere's clarifications, apology, and confession that he was living in hardship and suffering after halting broadcast activities.

Netizens criticized, "Does it make sense that he's suffering because he has no more broadcast income? How many foreign workers make money by doing hard work. He just wants to make easy money comfortably."

More enraged netizens wrote, "If you're suffering that much in Korea, living in poverty, then go back to Ghana!" "You made enough money and played enough in Korea anyway, you're getting hit with karma now because of your own fault!!" "So crude and arrogant!" "Looks like he still doesn't know what he did wrong.." "He's really cursing Koreans and wants our society to be generous with his scandals.."

  1. [+1,355, -76] F*ck off back to your country! Do you realize how much Koreans suffered and our country looked down upon after your words aired on a famous broadcasting company?
  2. [+469, -29] A black man that criticized Koreans and sexually harassed another Korean is saying "Stop discriminating against me.." F*ck right off!
  3. [+384, -19] You sexually harass a Korean and "it's unfair" but when we do a parody "its racism." We hate you and you hate Korea so go back to your country!
  4. [+342, -4] I watched his interview on 'PD Note' and his excuses don't add up at all. If you look closely at his intentions, he's your typical ba$tard. Doesn't want to reflect on himself properly but wants to plead for leniency for his actions. If he's so hard up for money, why is he still sticking around. He's so proud of his home country Ghana with his royalty or aristocrat family so why stay here and suffer? There are many foreigners with good images and speak even better Korean. There's no space on broadcasts for racist ba$tards like him that sexually harass Koreans. Who'd want to see a foreigner like that?
  5. [+307, -10] So what he did was a "joke" and what others did was "racism..." Stop with your whining and put in some work to make money.
  6. [+153, -14] Now that he's run out of money he's crawling out to beg putting out his own cosplay ~~ f*ck off to your country and make money there!
  7. [+109, -0] Why not go back to your home country then? Far away from 'racist' high school kids. If you're truly living in poverty, pick up a job as a part-timer, not golf lessons!
  8. [+103, -2] He's acting like he doesn't know Koreans. You did that, it's game over. Yoo Seung-jun, MC Mong, they committed the gravest of mortal sins and now can never resume activities. You couldn't even repay all the love you received from our country.
  9. [+100, -0] "Once you go black, you never go back.." really sounds like a misunderstanding ..
  10. [+58, -0] You're the one who came to live off another country and now you're whining? You know you can always go back to your home country right?
  11. [+47, -0] Koreans are angry because you rushed to throw us out calling us "ignorant" against black people. You showed typical n**ger behavior demeaning Asians.
  12. [+17, -1] Let's ban foreigners.. especially shameless Africans. This guy is seriously disgusting. Couldn't even repay our country for the love he received instead he's shamelessly trying to crawl out again. Screw off back to your country! I hate blacks and Africans now because of you!!
