Squid Game actor Oh Young-soo has been arrested by police.
On the 25th, the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office Seongnam branch announced it has issued an indictment for Oh for making inappropriate physical contact with a woman A around mid 2017.
According to a report by JTBC, victim A filed a complaint with police at the end of last year with claims that the actor molested her and stated that she was suffering mentally and eventually filed a lawsuit. Oh got to know A while working in the acting industry.
At the time, police determined there was no charge and decided not to send the case to prosecution however A filed an objection and prosecution conducted a re-investigation. Prosecutors confirmed circumstances in which Oh admitted to the assault to A and apologized. During the prosecution's investigation, Oh was known to have completely denied the allegations stating that "the only physical contact was holding her hands while guiding the way and he apologized because he didn't want the incident to turn into an issue." However prosecutors determined in addition to holding her hand, Oh had done other serious physical contact.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has halted all CFs with Oh and plans to request return of all appearance fees taking into account the investigation result and contents of the contract. The actor was also excluded from a Jeonju performance for play 'Love Letter' where's he's appearing as a cast member that was scheduled to be held in January 14th next year.
