YG Entertainment's new girl group is coming out after 7 years.
On the 30th at 3pm, YG Entertainment posted a 'YG NEXT MOVEMENT' poster on its official blog. The poster reads 0 AM for the first day of the new year in 2023 with the words 'COMING SOON.'
Also, the silhouettes of 7 women are revealed confirming that it will be a 7-member girl group.
YG has been launching idols whose visuals and skills are verified through a long period of trainee life. In particular, this is the first time they're launching a girl group in 7 years drawing attention. Blackpink also made their debut 7 years after 2NE1.
This is also the first time that YG is launching a new girl group with 7 members as 2NE1 and Blackpink all had 4 members and therefore catching attention.
While competition between 4th gen girl group is hot in the music industry, there isn't much information about YG's new girl group raising curiosity. What is known is that among applicants from all over the world, the girls are in mid-to-late teens who have an average of 4-5 years of high-intensity training.
Since Blackpink is recording global box office success and enjoying worldwide influence, the teen girl group launched by YG is also expected to show formidable destructive power.
There's interest in what kind of music and colors they will show that is different from Blackpink.
