Actor Yoo Ah-in (Um Hong-sik) has been discovered abusing another drug.
According to News1 report on the 11th, as a result of additional police investigation, Yoo Ah-in was found to have purchased Zolpidem after receiving a prescription for non-medical purposes. Zolpidem is considered a medical narcotic used to treat sleep disorders such as insomnia.
Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit official stated, "We are investigating an additional charge of purchasing Zolpidem after receiving a prescription for non-medical purposes."
So far, Yoo Ah-in has been charged with abusing four types of drugs such as propofol, marijuana, cocaine, and ketamine after his hair and urine tests came back positive. He was called in by police on the 27th of last month and investigated for 12 hours. He appeared in front of reporters after the investigation and stated, "I deeply regret that i have caused great disappointment to many people who have loved me while standing here because of an unfortunate incident. I have told you the truth as much as I can tell."
More suspicions have surfaced that Yoo Ah-in abused drugs with an accomplice. On the 10th, an official from Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated in a regular meeting, "There are things that need to be strengthened ahead of the 2nd summons investigation into Yoo Ah-in. There are parts that need to be further investigated for accomplices so will conduct another summons after investigating the suspicions."
According to police, it was discovered that Yoo Ah-in took drugs with another accomplice and police are currently investigating.
