Officials are bracing for disaster at the 'K-Pop Super Live' World Scout Jamboree.
According to industry officials, New Jeans who recently returned to Korea after performing in the U.S are also expected to perform. The Jamboree concert was originally scheduled to be held on the 6th at the Saemangeum outdoor stage in Jeonbuk, however as patients continued to appear due to heatwaves, the venue and schedule was changed to the Jeonju World Cup Stadium on the 11th.
As the schedule was suddenly changed, news of some singers and MCs such as NMIXX, VERIVERY and actor Jang Dong-yoon were reported to no longer be appearing. As a result, the success of the Jamboree event where a budget of 110 billion won was poured became a fog. What the government put forward was the appearance of world star BTS to raise national prestige. However, it was not clear whether or not they would make an appearance.
With very little time remaining until the Jamboree concert, it would be hard to coordinate BTS members appearance, plan performances, and prepare performance equipment. In addition, it would be difficult to match schedules for some of the members who are currently promoting solo or serving in the military. In particular, V, is in the middle of preparing for release of his solo album.
It was pointed out that this was the most realistic reason why the performer was rapidly changed from BTS to New Jeans. In a situation where BTS appearance couldn't be guaranteed, analysts say that HYBE released their label mates New Jeans in response to government pressure. In fact, there is no place where you can recruit New Jeans a few days before appearance. But in the name of a national event, it was inevitable that private agencies were forced to do things they did not want to do.
Currently, the 'Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree' event is being criticized for hasty administration. There is ongoing stir due to poor management, poor environments, and suspicions of sexual assault crimes. The results of the government and organizers' frustrating response and operations are being thrown back into the faces of the K-pop idols and entertainment agencies. It's a shame that a Jamboree that was supposed to be a 'gift' for attendees has turned into national violence.
- [+926, -51] Don't use them like this. They're didn't become singers to be used for your politics!
- [+272, -2] How is calling singers to sing raising national prestige? That's not what national prestige is. When the state is spending tax money to hold an event where outsiders will be attending, our national dignity is at stake. Outsiders should be putting out praises before we do and when accidents occur it's our responsibility to handle them.
- [+259, -14] They used BTS for their politics when they sent them to the U.S as UN special envoys too..ㅋㅋ. Why???ㅋㅋ
- [+119, -5] So is their first thought to look for BTS when the country is in jeopardy?!
- [+56, -5] Now I understand why BTS was reluctant to go the military. I can't tell whether they're celebrities or military officials.
- [+42, -0] Japan got 130 billion won to host the Jamboree when it was previously held for 35 billion won. They kept asking for more and more and got rejected. Where the hell did they spend all that money??! Throw out and arrest all the officials involved in the event!!
- [+42, -1] The top ranks covering for each other while the young kids are being called to deal with it and fix the mess.
- [+29, -0] All the politicians involved are the ones that dropped our national prestige and are trying to use others to clean up their poops. We're all watching and asking the same questions.. what happened to the 100 billion won?!
- [+29, -1] Glad to see everyone is going crazy over this. This Jamboree is a mess and the singers are just trying to do their best to fix the situation. Does our country even have anything to offer besides our idols?
- [+22, -0] Why does BTS need to raise the national prestige that the government ruined??!
