The Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism's speech is catching attention.
On the 10th, the Jamboree Organizing Committee and the Tourism Minister stated, "the top idol group IVE has confirmed appearance at the 'K-pop Super Live' concert to be held on the 11th."
IVE was previously scheduled to appear at the Saemangeum campground on the 6th however the performance was canceled due to a change in venue. Initially it was known that their appearance was canceled due to scheduling problems but attention is being paid to the true happenings in the back on their decision to belatedly make an appearance at the Jamboree in one day. IVE was also absent from the Tourism Minister's announcement on the 9th that included HYBE idol New Jeans.
On that day, the Tourism Minister Park Bo-kyun stated, "IVE welcomes the decision to voluntarily appear at the 'K-pop Super Live' concert in Sangam-dong by adjusting another schedule to keep their promise on the 6th to appear. With top idol group IVE included in the lineup, we expect the Saemangeum Scout Jamboree to end with the overwhelming charm of K-pop."
He also emphasized that it was a "voluntary" appearance not one mobilized by "government pressure" but it's unknown what exactly transpired in the back that forced the group to adjust other schedules so that they can push ahead with the Jamboree performance.
Coincidentally, on this day, the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) conducted a search and seizure of the office of Kakao Entertainment founder Kim Bum-soo and its parent company. He's also the largest shareholder of IVE's agency Starship Entertainment.
- [+1,373, -33] Tax investigations into Starship?!
- [+704, -26] He's claiming it was all 'voluntary' but all I'm seeing is 'forced' and 'coerced.'
- [+605, -100] Yoon Mo-jiri holds the mic while the master shakes the tambourine! Why!! Why bully these poor kids!!!
- [+353, -9] If it was some spontaneous comment no one would even pay attention to it but for the Tourism Minister himself to emphasize it... it's clear they were forced?! Why did they feel the need to include that last sentence?!
- [+284, -13] Ah yes, voluntarily chose to participate in fear of being subject to tax investigations..
- [+237, -4] Seeing as they putting a lot of emphasis on 'voluntary' they must've threatened that if they didn't come out they'll do a search and seize of the agency and conduct tax investigationsã…‹ã…‹. The Kakao founder Kim Bum-soo's office was raided today right? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ What's the difference between this tail and 5-gong games they're playing nowã…‹ã…Žã…Ž. Ah, this Mo-jiri regime is resembling the North Korean dictatorship more and more.
- [+111, -5] After all, only the incompetent and stupid governments are talented in this area. A search and seizureã…‹ã…‹. They did it to Kakao tooã…Žã…Ž. Just like the Communist Partyã…‹ã…Žã…Ž.
- [+102, -2] This is no different from North Korean regime where they're all dragged out through mobilization orders. If agencies didn't do it, they would've been raided and tax investigations opened under threats of more scandals. Who could refuse?
- [+83, -1] Coincidentally, on this same day, the FSS did a search and seizure of Kakao founder Kim Bum-soo's Kakao Entertainment and it's parent company, who just also happens to be the largest shareholder of IVE's agency Starship ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹..Yep, all 'voluntary' ^^
- [+73, -2] Coincidentally, the largest shareholder of the company gets raided at the same time.. wow such great timingã…‹ã…‹.
- [+69, -4] Yoon Seok-yeol can order search and seizures, prosecutions, tax investigations.. if they can retaliate with investigative rights is that a prosecutor or bully?
- [+66, -3] Is that how you got them to perform? Through threats of tax audits?
- [+58, -4] It's even funnier that's he's emphasizing it was 'voluntary' ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹. He's still doing what he used to do back in his prosecutor daysã…‹ã…‹.
