The police have officially launched an investigation into the 2nd 'Tokbang' chatroom.
According to an 'SBS 8 News' broadcast on the 5th, additional reports were made about another group chat that includes a son of a top ranking Samsung Exec, a movie actor, model, and an Arena Club MD. The controversy has now been dubbed the '2nd Jung Joon Young'.
According to the report by '8 News', the Seoul Gangnam Police Station is conducting an investigation into the participants of this particular group chat and plan to search for additional seizures of the son of 'Chairman A' that was reported.
Per the report, "There is a lot of anxiety about the file being leaked somewhere or not knowing what happened. Women in their careers don't even know they've been harmed. This situation is becoming a vicious cycle because the punishments only ended up in fines and are dealt with too easily."
The Gangnam PD will conduct an investigation into 12 members including actors and models who are members of the group chat room.
In the meantime, this '2nd Jung Joon Young' controversy first broke on the 4th by a report by SBS 'News 8' where a victim 'A' spoke to the show and revealed that her boyfriend Kim had over 100 hidden camera videos stored in an external hard drive that she had found. The illegal footage was shared in a group chat that involved actors 'Shin', 'Han' and model 'Jung', an entertainer, a club Arena MD and the son of a Samsung Group affiliate President (high ranking exec official).
However, the Police didn't look for additional victims (even thought the footage found indicated there were more) and didn't confiscate the external hard drive. The police failed to search for the external hard drive in Kim's office raising suspicions of 'police collusion' and corruption.
