Hi DN Readers!

Thank you for joining me!

I created this blog to share with international fans translated articles of the top ranked articles on Korea's Naver that are shared daily on the platform.

Who/What is Naver?
Naver is a South Korean online platform operated by Naver Corporation.  They were the first web portal in Korea to develop and use its own search engine.  They're the equivalent of Google in the U.S.  Most articles in Korea are shared on this portal.

Naver is also behind the most critical apps in KPOP like V-Live and Naver TV. They also manage global mobile services like mobile messenger LINE, video messenger SNOW and group communication service BAND.

Why Daily Naver?
For the past 12 years my go-to sites for KPOP news has been allkpop, Soompi, and stan Twitter. These sites are great but allkpop and other news sites only translate the news that they know will get them clicks to their sites not the articles that are trending daily in Korea.

With this blog I plan to do just that. Netizens play a bigger role in the decisions that are made in the Korean entertainment industry than probably any other industry in the world and have an extreme amount of control in the decision making processes of companies and their artists.  Netizens have a cause-and-effect relationship with the media.  They cause it, the media effects it, it being the industry.  As such, top ranked articles show what news is impacting the entertainment industry in Korea and hence the cause-effect relationship with KPOP and more.

Why do you only source from Naver?
Naver has one of the biggest and fastest moving communities out of the top three portal sites.  Most of the articles in Korea are shared on this portal.

Naver also has the most "real netizens" compared to Nate, as users are required to create accounts before leaving comments. Nate users can post anonymously and is therefore heavily frequented by haters/trolls.

As there are other blogs that translate from sites like Nate, Daum, and Pann, I plan to focus mostly on Naver. But keep in mind that the overall opinion/sentiment on scandals and other issues are the same across the board. But if necessary, I might share reactions from Nate.

What is the difference between Nate, Naver, and Daum?
Naver is most well-known for its blogging platform Naver blog.
Nate is most known for its community forum Pann.
Daum is most frequented for its idol fancafes.
