A woman in her 30s reportedly threw her 9 month old baby out of a 5-story apartment window.

The woman 'A' (36) was arrested on the 18th after Gwangju Police were called to an apartment complex in the area. 'A' reportedly thew the 9-month old baby outside a 5-story apartment window at 6:20am after fight with boyfriend 'B' (47).

According to police, the woman lived with her boyfriend at the apartment and they reportedly fought because he "wouldn't take care of the baby who was crying." Angry, she took the baby and left the apartment. She later returned but realized that she had forgotten the new pass-code to get into the apartment. Furious, she walked to the 5th floor window on the apartment hallway and threw the baby outside.

A neighbor later found the woman but thought it was strange that she didn't have the baby with her. When the neighbor questioned her about it, she said, "I threw the baby outside." 

Shocked, the neighbor called police who dispatched an ambulance to the apartment complex. The baby was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.

During investigation, the woman confessed to throwing the baby outside the window and said, "I rang the doorbell and banged on the door but my boyfriend wouldn't open the door. I got angry so I threw the baby."



It was later revealed that the boyfriend had a hearing impairment and during investigation he revealed that he had taken out his hearing aid and fallen asleep when she returned to the apartment. He said "he couldn't hear the doorbell or her banging on the door."

It was later revealed that the woman 'A' had a mental disability.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
