Famous variety show PD 'A' has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Judge Kwon Hee of the Seoul Central District Court 30th Criminal Division sentenced entertainment producer 'A' to 3 years in prison after his arrest on June 14th over allegations of r*pe.

The court concluded that "the victim's statement was more credible with no circumstances that deemed any part of the victim's statement false. The victim's testimony is also further backed up by the fact that in a conversation between the victim and the defendant after the incident, the defendant acknowledged that he had done wrong."

The judge also pointed out "there is no sin in having a workplace relationship with a sunbae but the victim had a hard time and suffered mental distress for many years after the event. Taking into account the previous criminal penalties, the defendant is sentenced to 3 years in prison, and will need to complete a 40-hr sexual violence treatment program and is ordered to a 3 yr job restriction."

A was reportedly sued by B, a junior colleague, for sexually assaulting her while working on the same variety program together for many years before.

A is a famous PD well-known for directing various entertainment programs and worked as a public broadcaster (refers to either KBS, SBS, MBC) before moving to a cable channel last year.
