The court has announced their decision on whether to air the SBS' "I want to Know" (hereinafter GAL) broadcast about the late Kim Seung Jae's death.
On the 21st, the Seoul Southern District Court announced that they have accepted a request for a broadcast ban on Kim Seung Jae's episode that was filed by his ex girlfriend. As a result, his broadcast that was scheduled to be aired by SBS on the 21st, has been banned from airing.
'GAL' producers planned to air the broadcast back in August 3rd but Kim Seung Jae's ex-girlfriend, a suspect in his murder, filed an injunction to ban the episode and the court accepted it.
On November 17th, the program producers filed once again to lift the ban citing new facts in the case but it appears that the court has decided to uphold their previous ruling.
Kim Seung Jae made his debut with group Deux in 1995 but was found dead in his hotel room at the age of 23. At the time, the police originally ruled the cause of death to be a heart attack due to trauma, however, 28 suspicious needle marks were found in his arm and chest. The autopsy detected lethal amounts of Zoletin, an animal anesthetic, causing suspicion that his death was a murder and not suicide.
His ex-girlfriend, was found guilty of his murder in the first trial but was later acquitted in a Supreme Court ruling due to lack of evidence.
