Channel A has uncovered more details regarding alleged Propofol abuse by a famous celebrity.
On the 15th, reporter from Channel A stated, "There is a plastic surgery clinic in Southern Seoul suspected of illegally taking Propofol. While investigating officials from the hospital, prosecutors reportedly found out that two of the habitual drug users received medical treatment under borrowed names, not real names. A famous actor and a CEO of an entertainment agency."
According to Channel A, the name of the actor's younger brother (dongsaeng) was among the names used in the hospital's medical records. It's been reported that this actor has injected propofol in this way over the years, at least a dozen times, as many as 10 confirmed.
Lawyer Cha Da Eun stated on the broadcast, "The use of borrowed names can gives us enough of a sense of purpose other than treatment. That's why it's possible to violate the medical law and not be guilty. The hospital is known to given Propofol treatments to some businessmen, including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong."
An official from the hospital stated, "I understand that Chae Seung Seok, former CEO of Aekyung Development who has been investigated by prosecutors since last year for his habitual drug use including Propofol introduced the famous actor to the hospital."
Prosecutors are said to be investigating whether there are more people who illegally took drugs in a similar way, including those who used borrowed names such as their own siblings.
