The city of Daegu has confirmed plans to move ahead with their large-scale KPOP concert.
On the 14th, an official from the City of Daegu confirmed the news stating plans to hold the concert for two and a half hours at 7pm on March 8th. The event was organized to promote the "Year of Tourism" in Daegu and ten idol groups including BTS, Zico, SF9, The Boyz, Cherry Bullet and more are scheduled to participate. Organizers predict that over 30,000 fans from home and abroad will be present at the event.
The city reportedly considered delaying the performance after various coronavirus cases were confirmed in Korea but decided to proceed with the event as planned.
Mayor Kwon Young-jin stated, "I understand that there are some concerns because fans from all over the world will be in attendance. We will prepare masks for visitors and install a thermal camera at the event venue entrance."
