Article: [Comprehensive] Military Manpower Administration notifies Seungri of enlistment, "military court trial predicted if enlisted"

Former Big Bang member Seungri (30) will likely undergo military court trial.
An official from the Military Manpower Administration [MMA] stated on the 4th, "We sent out a notice of entry to Seungri as his investigation phase has been completed to impose fair military service obligation. We will continue to notify the general public of any changes if the trial is held for a long time in private court."
He added, "If Seungri enlists, the trial jurisdiction will be transferred to the military court in accordance with relevant law. We will actively cooperate with the prosecution to ensure a consistent and fair ruling."
Seungri submitted a notice to delay enlistment last year due due to 'Burning Sun' investigations. However, if Seungri applies for postponement again, the MMA will likely not accept it as there's not enough "just cause."
Seungri is required to enlist within 30 days of receiving the notice and thus expected to enlist by end of February, early March.
In the meantime, the Seoul Prosecutors office indicted Seungri without detention on the 30th for allegations of arranging prostitution for overseas investors, habitual gambling for 1 billion won overseas, and violating foreign exchange laws ["hwanchigi"].

- [+1,251, -12] Don't send him to the army. Send him to prison!
- [+728, -83] So they're going to transfer him to the army so that he can collude with the military too. Why is it the military court's jurisdiction to conduct the trial?!
- [+417, -6] I don't get it. Does it make sense that he getting a military trial?
- [+268, -4] If he gets tried in the military of course it will be to his advantage.
- [+94, -2] In this case, don't you usually give him a notice of enlistment once the case is closed or he's completely acquitted? But if he joins the army, he still gets military trial? Why? I don't understand. He's not a soldier. Why would he stand trial in a military court? You'll cooperate with prosecution? Shouldn't you have cooperated with prosecution to dig up the facts instead of destroying them on your own whenever there's a case in your county? Why send him a notice of enlistment now? Does it make sense? If he's found guilty would he even be eligible to enlist?!
