Pledis Entertainment has announced strong legal action against Pristin's Joo Kyulkyung (Zhou Jie Qiong, 23) regarding her unilateral contract termination request.
On the 25th, the former IOI member posted a lengthy message on her Weibo writing, "Due to many serious problems in the course of the merger and after deliberations regarding my career development, I formally proposed a written resolution to Pledis and Sung Chan-se (China Management Corporation) through my lawyer on September 10, 2019. I don't want to argue about right or wrong anymore. All I can do is work hard, improve myself and show you better work from now on. I don't want to abandon the people who love and trust me."
On the same day, Pledis' counsel, lawyer Kim Moo-hee of Jipyeon law firm revealed in a press release, "Joo Kyulkyung sent a groundless unilateral notice of termination to Pledis in September last year and is even avoiding communication with the agency and Sung Chan-se employees."
He added, "Kyulkyung is actively engaging in unauthorized entertainment activities like appearing in dramas, entertainment shows, and CF's in China on her own that violate her exclusive contract with Pledis. We have no choice but to take legal action, such as seeking confirmation with Kyulkyung whether she'll be able to survive through litigation."

- [+2,667, -25] So why do agencies keep taking in Chinese members even after all of this? They all behave in the same way. Once they've made enough fame and money, they terminate the contract on their own terms.
- [+2,358, -27] As expected of a Chinese member, backstabbing already
- [+151, -3] Why do the Chinese think contracts are akin to a piece of toilet paper? They deserve to be kicked out of the world market.

- [+132, -10] Well there's our answer. She was the reason behind Pristin's disbandment. This is why people keep asking agencies to stop using Chinese members. And if you still want to, at least make them a temporary use.
- [+123, -2] I bet you Sungso will have a scandal too
- [+118, -4] Back at it again with the Chinese traitors
- [+98, -2] With how badly SM suffered, I don't doubt that smaller agencies will struggle with this issue as well
- [+91, -2] How do the backs of agencies feel? Doesn't it feel sore with how hard the Chinese have been stabbing you all this time? And yet they keep hiring more.
- [+59, -2] We really need to catch the brokers on the Chinese side ã…¡ã…¡ it's unfair that we do all of the training only for them to slip them out in the end ã…¡ã…¡
- [+50, -2] From SuJu's Hankyung to EXO to now Joo Kyulkyung, you just can't trust them...
