Police have arrested two more operators from Cho Joo Bin's "Nth Room".
On the 9th, police arrested a teenager surnamed "Kang" (18) suspected of recruiting and managing the "Nth Room" under the ID "Butta". Kang was also in charge of handling all subscriber fees.
Kim Tae Kyun, a senior judge at the Seoul Central District Court approved the arrest warrant on the 9th after Kang underwent questioning. The judge stated, "Considering the details, the extent of the suspects role and participation in the chatroom and the detailed, planned, and continuous damage to the numerous victims in the chatroom, strong punishment is expected. There's also a risk of flight and evidence destruction therefore an arrest is inevitable. But since he's a teenager, he'll be tried under juvenile law."
Police also arrested an army private stationed in Gyeonggi who uses the ID "Lee Ki Ya" in the chatroom. As Lee is currently an active duty soldier, police had to obtain approvals from the Military Court to enforce the arrest warrant. Lee is accused of distributing molka in the chatroom and promoting the account outside.
Police made the arrests after a lawyer in charge of Cho's defense revealed that besides Cho, there are 3 more "Nth Room" managers nicknamed "Butta", "Mantas", and "Lee Ki Ya."
