Jun Jihyun is under controversy for exaggerated rent relief efforts.
Because of the Coronavirus outbreak, a lot of celebrities have offered to reduce rents for tenants in their buildings. Top celebrities that own buildings in Gangnam like Won Bin, Lee Na Yeong, and Rain offered to reduce rents for their tenants by 50%.
According to reports, Jun Jihyun also joined the "Good Neighbor Campaign" and sent a message to all her tenants promising rent reductions at all her properties in Samseong-dong, Nohyeong-dong and Ichon-dong. Her buildings alone are said to be worth over 87.8 billion won and she's reportedly said to have enough money to buy a 34 billion won building in cash.
However, the actual rent reduction was much different. One shopping district was given 5% rent reduction but as for others an anonymous source stated, "tenant A received a 10% reduction only because of the vacancy risk but tenant B and C didn't receive any reductions." The source also revealed that "tenant C closed early in March due to financial difficulties."
A real estate official stated, "There is no rent reduction for current or new tenants. If you want to come in, you come in for a set price, otherwise..."
When tenant B was asked who had received a rent reduction, he flatly said, "I can't tell you for sure who got the rent reduction. Currently the building is managed by Jun Jihyun's parents. We call him Chairman Wang."
In the meantime, an official from Jun Jihyun's side spoke to Sports World reporters and stated, "It's difficult to confirm because its her personal life."
