'School 2020' reps have declined to comment on casting and broadcast controversy.
A KBS official confirmed on April 14th that KBS will no longer be airing the drama stating, "After discussions, the decision was made not to broadcast 'School 2020'.
When asked, a source from the production company declined to comment on the controversy instead stating, "We are discussing it in multiple angles. The production schedule is being carried out sequentially without any setbacks and we'll finalize the casting of all actors as soon as possible and speed up the production in earnest."
Ahn Seo Hyun was in discussion for female lead role on the drama but was ultimately not cast in the drama due to conflicts between her father and the production company. The female lead role was then offered to Kim Sae Ron and WJSN’s Eunseo was offered a different leading role. Kim Yo Han is confirmed to play the male lead.
The drama was scheduled to begin filming in March and air in August. Since KBS has decided not air the drama, it might be picked up by a different broadcasting channel.
