PD Kim Yujin has attempted suicide due to iljin rumors.
According to reports, PD Kim was discovered by family members at 3:00am on the 4th after reportedly attempting suicide at her home through overdose of sleeping pills. She was rushed to the ER at a nearby hospital and according to a family member has now been moved to general hospital room and is in stable condition but not able to speak yet.
On the 4th, Kim Yujin's sister posted a message on Instagram writing, "My sister is not an iljin (school bully). The author that wrote the post maliciously posted false statements to incite hate comments against my sister. She's a victim of verbal violence."
She also posted a family statement that reads, "Sorry for writing late but we didn't want to get in the way of PD Yujin's work. Our family is trying to reveal the truth regarding false information being spread about Yujin and excessive criticism arising from these false facts. Because of the level of malicious comments and defamation we have received we plan to take strong legal action including civil and criminal action to protect PD Kim Yujin. We will file a complaint with the authorities."
"Yujin's has been trying to bear it alone but she's suffering from all the malicious comments. Since the post was shared on the 30th last month, we have received death threats and over 40 calls and messages in a span of 3 days. We can't take it anymore. We will reveal the truth. We have tolerated and endured but we can't take it anymore. Hiding behind anonymity, this person spread false information with malicious intent to slander and attack PD Kim. We will take strong legal action and have no plans to settle."
In the meantime, last month, a netizen shared an anonymous post on Pann and accused PD Kim (29) of gang assault with her friends in Auckland, New Zealand in 2008. The netizen alleged that PD Kim slapped him with a slipper and after he collapsed, PD Kim and her friends beat him up. The netizen wrote, "A few weeks later, I went to the city and was at a parking lot when I saw 8-10 of them gathered there. They said, "Why are you going around saying things like that?" and began shoving me and slapping my cheek. After people began staring, they took me to a noraebang (karaoke) and while singing started hitting my head and stomach."
According to the author, later when PD Kim saw him at the parking lot she said, "I didn't have plans of doing this. My friends are a bit like that. You messed with the wrong person and just think of it as if you stepped on poop (had shitty luck) and don't show your face in the city again."
Due to growing controversy Chef Lee Won-il (41) has suspended all broadcasting activities.
In the meantime, PD Kim and Chef Won Il were scheduled to have their wedding on April 26th but had to postpone their nuptials to August 29th due to the Coronavirus.
PD Kim has attracted attention in the past for looking like AOA's Seolhyun.
