WINNER's Mino (27) is under controversy for performing at a club amid coronavirus outbreak.
On the 3rd, Mino visited a newly opened Club A in Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do. He held an impromptu performance at the club after grabbing the microphone in the DJ box and performing his hit song.
With his surprise performance, the club atmosphere increase and people flocked around him with most of them wearing masks on their chins.
An official from the club stated on the 12th, "Song Minho only came to play. It was not an official invitation to perform at the club. There were few guests and most of them were his acquaintances."
However, its difficult to avoid accusations by netizens that he ignored social distancing rules as they were being enforced in the 1-5 days after holiday celebrations. Club A recommended using hand sanitizer, checking fever, logging all visitors and wearing a mask but few people properly followed the quarantine guidelines.
YG Entertainment addressed the controversy on the 12th writing, "Song Min-ho went on a personal outing with acquaintances recently. He's deeply sorry to have worried many people. We will pay special attention to our artists in the future to make sure they're thoroughly practicing personal hygiene rules and social distancing."
In the meantime, there has a been recent community spread in Yongin after an infected patient visited a gay club in Itaewon. So far, at least 101 people have tested positive after visiting the club.
