Police are investigating a disturbing case involving a 9 yr old girl. 

According to a report by MBN, a woman walked into a convenience store with a frightened young girl, a 4th grader, wearing adult slippers and pajamas. Her eyes appeared bruised and she was wearing colored glasses. She also had a deep bleeding gash on the top of her head. Most of the fingerprints on her right hand were also missing reportedly from being burnt on a hot frying pan.

A witness revealed to police, "I was afraid that she had runaway from home and gotten lost. I saw her hand and I couldn't believe it, it was awful. Seeing how serious her wounds were, I gave her first aid, wrapped her hand with bandages and ointment and took her directly to the police station."

The stepfather reportedly admitted to some of the abuse during investigations but denied other charges. The mother who was also accused of assault refused to attend investigations claiming that "she was suffering from schizophrenia."

Police plan to investigate the stepfather and biological mother and file for an arrest warrant if found guilty.
