A taxi driver in Busan has been arrested by police for stabbing a passenger several times.
On the 3rd, Yeongje Police Station revealed that they are seeking an arrest warrant for a taxi driver A (50) on charges of attempted murder. A is suspected of wielding a weapon against passenger B (20s) on a road near Mangmi Station in Suyeong-gu, Busan around 11pm on the 1st.
According to police, passenger B reportedly farted several times in the car and driver A lowered the window and asked B to stop farting. This led to an argument and a physical fight where A took out a weapon and stabbed B more than 10 times. The weapon used was found to be something he had packed for a fishing trip over the holidays.
Police stated, "B is currently being treated at the hospital for serious injuries due to damage to some of his organs. His life is not threatened. We plan to charge taxi driver A with attempted murder and not special injury because he wielded the weapon more than 10 times."
