Former YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk has finally attended court for gambling charges.
On the 9th, the Seoul Western District Court held its first hearing for Yang Hyun Suk's gambling charges abroad. Yang Hyun-suk is suspected of leaving the country seven times from July 2015 to January 2019 and gambling a total of 400 million won (~ $335,460) with other party members at a Las Vegas casino.
Yang Hyun Suk arrived wearing a black suit and mask and during court proceedings admitted to all charges. His lawyer stated, "he acknowledges all the facts of the indictment."
YG affiliates CEO Kim, Lee and businessman Geum who were also indicted gave the same answer.
However, Yang's lawyer denied habitual gambling charges stating, "We need to review the indictment regarding suspicions of habitual gambling. A separate disposition has been filed regarding habitual gambling charges."
When asked about his job, YG stated, "I worked as a representative music producer for YG Entertainment," and stared at the front with a calm look during the nearly 20-minute trial.
Afterwards, Yang Hyun Suk quickly left the scene towards prepared vehicle. When asked by reporters "do you still deny charges of habitual gambling", "What about alleged embezzlement of Hongdae bars you own as largest shareholder?" and "do you acknowledge covering up B.I's drug investigation?", Yang quickly boarded a black Carnival vehicle and left.
The next hearing will be held at 2 pm on Oct. 28.
