The Korean Health and Medical Workers' Union affiliated with Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, issued a statement on the 5th and stated "In YG Entertainment's music video for 'Love Sick Girls' one of the members dressed up as a nurse. This is seriously far from the current nurse's attire from the hair cap, to the tights, short skirt and red high heels. This is a costume that furthers the existing sexual objectification of nurses."
The Union took issue with the scene where Jennie is wearing a nurse's outfit with red high heels.
- [+5,343, -669] Sometimes I think our country is more restrictive than Islam or Indiaㅋㅋㅋㅋ.
- [+3,828, -310] How is this controversial? Instead of being selective with controversies why not reveal what's going on with the real molester Park Won Soon?
- [+1,844 -360] I didn't think anything when I saw that outfit in the MV so I'm shocked at the imaginations making this into some sexual thingㅋ
- [+1,443, -861] Of course nurses would be angry over this. This is a time when nurses deserve the utmost respect but they're always portrayed as a bunch of dumb nurses and turned into sexual objects in TV dramas.
- [+263, -73] The comments criticizing them are right. Can you tell me honestly that nurse's outfits are like this in p*rnos. Maids, stewardesses and so on. Frankly, this is degrading to the people in that industry.
- [+216, -52] There's a lot of nurse fetishes in p*rn. How is that that an outfit a real nurse would wear? The criticisms are right. They're ruining the image of their profession. Of course they can't help but feel uncomfortable.
- [+242, -87] This is the same as having a stethoscope while only wearing briefs. What kind of nurse or doctor would wear something like that? It's sexual objectification.
- [+273, -79] I'm currently a nurse and this makes me uncomfortable and angry. Is this what they think of our profession? It's so upsetting to see.
