In most non-large agencies, trainees have to pay back money spent on them as an investment while they were trainees. But in big agencies like SM JYP , you don't have to pay it back. It's just a free investment from the company. After debut, you earn your income directly without accumulating any debt.

Also, the income ratio is equally divided between the company and the singer so this gives a big advantage to the singer (in YG, the settlement ratio is more favorable for singers).

And most of all, success is guaranteed the moment you debut. In particular, a female idol will never fall below 2nd tier after debut no matter how bad they are. They'll debut in the big leagues. Actually, most of them are first-tier.

During trainee years, the company also provides "quality maintenance fee." Simply put, the company gives trainees an allowance. In fact, there are idols who bought iPads, laptops, etc. from maintenance fees they received as trainees. Since the company is big, everything is high quality including face and body care, hair/makeup/coordi, singing, music video etc.

As long as you don't get into any scandals when you're active, if you debut as an idol from a big agency, you'll sit on a money cushion and succeed in life.

  3. [+389, -5] Wow, it's seriously amazing that you don't have to pay back the investment cost from when you entered as a trainee. I remember hearing that TWICE got paid 3 months after debut. It's seriously amazing to be in a large agency.
  4. [+176, -174] I can't believe JYP is 'big 3'...they have zero creativity in their music.
  5. [+101, 6] Isn't SM well-known for their slave contracts through? I doubt that's changed.
  6. [+31, -20] One thing that stands out with 'big 3' trainees is the level of talent. But looking at TWICE's vocals during lives...hul..so shameless
  7. [+28, -0] Do you think aespa would be at the level they're in right now a month into their debut ã…‹ã…‹? They're a rookie but they got the privilege to perform at the year-end gayos.
