Seventeen's Mingyu is embroiled in allegations of bullying and abuse.
On the 22nd, a netizen A shared a post in an online community titled, "I'm exposing Kim X-gyu, a male idol who's an Iljin." A described himself as an alum of Seventeen Mingyu's elementary and middle school and claimed that "Mingyu was a member of an iljin group since elementary" and insisted that "he was bullied by Mingyu in their first year of middle school."
Alongside the post, A shared a graduation album and Mingyu's past Facebook feed as evidence. The suspicions became a hot topic online and the author deleted the article.

An official from Pledis spoke directly to Sports World to address the claims and stated, "Through self-identification conducted, the allegations are unfounded and obviously false. We took the time to check the facts in detail and the graduation album posted by the author saying it was certified was completely different from Mingyu's graduation photo. The author's article has been deleted too. We don't understand what kind of intentions he had when making these claims."
