YG Entertainment will reportedly debut a new girl group.
According to an exclusive report by OSEN on the 18th, a high ranking music industry official revealed to the media outlet that "YG is planning to launch a new girl group in the 2nd half of this year."
Although the issue was not specifically shared within the company, movements of a debut were clearly captured within the company raising expectations of people involved in the music industry.
YG is infamous for only releasing a new group through careful considerations and since Black Pink is currently increasing Kpop's global influence as the top girl group, it's further amplifying the curiosity about the next generation of YG girl groups.
It's expected that since Black pink members were on average 19 yrs old when they debut and became trainees at the 13-15 yrs old and received high-intensity training for 6 years, the new girl group is expected to also have talented trainees that trained at least 4 years with the agency.
While the number of members and team's name is still up in the air, YG's signature is still intact so it's predicted that the new girl group with be a hip girl group with a different color from Black Pink.
Previously, Black Pink was called the "2nd 2NE1' as the group also had 4 members but the group was able to differentiate themselves with their success in the K-pop industry.
The potential of YG will be clearly shown once again with successful launch of a new girl group.
