On the 16th, Rep Ryu Ho-jong held a press conference urging the enactment of the 'Tattoo up' law and wore a purple backless dress that showed of tattoos to emphasize "freedom of expression."
She stated, "Today, an unfamiliar politician has emerged on the grounds of the National Assembly. If someone criticizes me saying "no lawmaker has ever done that" well there are lawmakers that do this kind of thing. A tattoo is also part of a person's appearance and is essentially the same as hair, makeup, fashion and fitness. It's a person's basic right that must be protected with freedom."
Rep. Ryu also recently posted a photo of BTS member Jungkook and remarked about the state of Korea's networks for blurring tattoos on idols and celebrities on public broadcasts.
