Former Big Bang member Seungri (31) has been sentenced to prison and arrested.
At 2pm on the 12th, the General Military Court in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi found Seungri guilty of all 9 charges and sentenced him to 3 years in prison and fine of 1.1 billion won.
The court stated, "If court legally adopts and examines the evidence presented by military prosecution, it proves that Seungri conspired with former Yuri Holdings CEO, Yoo In-seok to arrange prostitution for investors. In addition, Seungri's statements are inconsistent, changing according to CCTV and witnesses that have come forward, so we have no choice to dismiss the defense's objection."
"Seungri is a socially influential public figure with a lot of young fans but he arranged for prostitution and profited from it. This hindered his judgement and consciousness as an entertainer who receives the public's attention."
"We also found him guilty of special assault charges and misappropriation of company assets of Burning Sun. We took into account the fact that he has no history of criminal punishment beyond fines, and although he took 100 milion won in operation profits for his embezzlements, the shareholders agreed to the distribution of profits so there was no substantial loss, at least initially."
Afterwards, Seungri was arrested in court and won't be able to fulfill his discharge date next month.
