On the 12th, the military court sentenced former Big Bang's Seungri (31) to prison and arrested the singer after he was indicted on charges of arranging prostitution and habitual gambling.
The court found Seungri guilty of all 9 'Burning Sun' charges and decided on a 3 year prison sentence because Seungri kept changing his statements. The court stated, "When "women who give well" katalks came out, he initially denied it, he then later admitted to sending a text message but didn't remember the contents, only to later admit to sending the message but claimed it was a "typo" caused by his iPhone. He also conspired with former Yuri Holdings CEO Yoo In-seok to arrange prostitution for investors and obtained profits from it."
The court also stated, "From police investigations to the court, Seungri does not appear to have reflected on his wrongdoings because he keeps denying the crimes or shifting responsibility so punishment is necessary."
After the sentence, the court issued an arrest warrant for Seungri who was immediately arrested and escorted to the 55th Division Military Police Corps prison camp for convicts.
However, his 3 year prison sentence is sparking outrage among Koreans as many think the sentence is too light for his crimes.
